What Happened?

Shares of medical professional network Doximity (NYSE:DOCS) jumped 7.3% in the afternoon session after the company announced a partnership with Wolters Kluwer Health to integrate UpToDate clinical content into its Doximity Ask platform.

The agreement makes UpToDate's evidence-based clinical content accessible directly within Doximity's Ask artificial intelligence platform. Under the partnership, clinicians at participating health systems can access answers from UpToDate's 13,000 topics and best practice guides alongside Doximity Ask answers. The integration is designed to support clinical decision-making by combining Wolters Kluwer Health's resources with Doximity's clinical decision support technology.

What Is The Market Telling Us

Doximity’s shares are very volatile and have had 26 moves greater than 5% over the last year. In that context, today’s move indicates the market considers this news meaningful but not something that would fundamentally change its perception of the business.

The previous big move we wrote about was 12 days ago when the stock gained 4.1% on the news that a comprehensive industry report revealed that infrastructure service spending surged by more than double in the third quarter thanks to accelerating artificial intelligence adoption.

According to data from the latest ISG Index, commercial contract value surged 63% to reach $52.5 billion during the third quarter, driven by strong tailwinds in artificial intelligence workloads. The dramatic increase in enterprise commitments led industry researchers to upgrade their full-year growth projection for XaaS, or Anything-as-a-Service, to 60%. Cloud infrastructure providers and IT service vendors are experiencing substantial financial benefits as organizations move beyond experimental AI trials into large-scale production environments requiring massive computational power and dedicated hosting capabilities.

This rapid expansion in infrastructure investments demonstrates sustained enterprise willingness to fund cloud architectures capable of supporting generative technologies, elevating multi-year growth expectations across the entire technology infrastructure landscape.

Doximity is down 22.3% since the beginning of the year, and at $33.66 per share, it is trading 50.9% below its 52-week high of $68.50 from October 2025. Investors who bought $1,000 worth of Doximity’s shares 5 years ago would now be looking at only $463.06.
