Dr. Ambush's perseverance in the face of these challenges, including completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice program at 50, is a testament to her resilience and dedication. Her personal experiences, coupled with her enthusiasm, have profoundly influenced her approach to patient care.
This is not to say that Dr. Ambush was not inspired to pursue pediatrics before her disorder, however. Ever since she was a child, she has been interested in pediatrics, and in high school, she volunteered for any role she could have in pediatric help. She soon realized that pediatrics was her calling, as she harbored a true passion for the field. Dr. Ambush's deep understanding of the human spirit and mental health helped her realize this about herself at an early age.
